Kardios is a third party resource for Concurrent Computer's super-mini computers. It designs and manufactures products for the Concurrent market place. These products include communications, networking, memory expansion, and specialized I/O. High performance, high up-time, Ethernet is the latest addition to its product line.
Since its inception in 1976, Kardios has specialized in the design and manufacture of add-in products for Concurrent Computer's super-mini computers. Kardios' philosophy is simple: design and build reliable products at a reasonable price.
In 1987 Kardios developed a high performance data-communication subsystem, trademarked "ComPlus". It connects to hundreds of serial ports, handles any mix of protocols, and runs full duplex data rates of tens of million of bits per second. Individual ports operate up to a T1 rate of 1.544 Mbps.
Fast and reliable networks are important for client/server applications, PCs, and heterogeneous computing environments. In 1993 Kardios added 10 Mbps Ethernet hardware to the ComPlus platform and developed reliable TCP/IP network software to support the hardware.
Kardios designs and manufactures world-class products in its facilities in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Located about 30 miles from the nation's capital, Gaithersburg has easy access to a host of services, including three major airports.
